Who We Are
Welcome to the Republican Party of India (Athawale)! Founded in July 2019 under the guidance of Shri Ramdas Athawale, we are a progressive political movement dedicated to advancing the rights and dignity of marginalized communities across India. As an integral part of the historic Republican Party of India, RPI (Athawale) draws its inspiration from the life and principles of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the visionary architect of the Indian Constitution and a beacon of social justice.
 Our Mission
At RPI (Athawale), we are passionate about creating a society where social justice, equality, and empowerment are more than ideals—they are lived realities. Our mission is to build a nation that champions the rights and aspirations of all, especially those from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other disadvantaged communities. By confronting caste-based discrimination and advocating for inclusivity, we work tirelessly to ensure everyone can thrive and contribute to society.
 Core Values
Social Justice: We stand for fair treatment and equity for all, with a focus on empowering marginalized communities and addressing social disparities.
- Empowerment: Through economic, educational, and employment opportunities, we aim to uplift underrepresented communities and foster self-reliance.
- Unity in Diversity: We adopt mutual respect and cooperation across all communities by embracing India’s rich diversity.
- Sustainable Development: We pursue balanced policies that prioritize the well-being of every citizen, leaving no one behind as we grow together as a nation.
The Dalit Panther Movement
Our journey is deeply rooted in the legacy of the **Dalit Panther Movement**, a revolutionary social movement founded in **1972**. Born as a response to the deep-rooted injustices faced by Dalits, this movement was initiated by visionary youth leaders like **NamdeoDhasal** and **J.V. Pawar**. Inspired by the teachings of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the activism of the U.S. Black Panther Party, the Dalit Panthers aimed to empower Dalits to resist oppression, demand equal rights, and challenge the social order.
The movement’s manifesto, blending principles of Marxism and Buddhism, targeted social and economic inequities, identifying landlords and capitalists as primary adversaries. Though the Dalit Panther Movement disbanded in 1977, its influence is enduring. This movement raised vital awareness about caste-based oppression and created a legacy of resistance and resilience that still resonates across India’s social landscape.
Under the leadership of Shri Ramdas Athawale, RPI (Athawale) proudly carries forward this legacy, advocating for a society where justice and equality prevail. We invite you to join us on this journey toward a future where every voice is valued, and every individual has the opportunity to build a dignified life.
